Veterans Service Officer

The Deuel County Veterans Service Office is dedicated to serving the men and women who have served our country, as well as their families and survivors. The office provides information, guidance, and assistance in accessing federal, state, and local veterans' benefits and services.

The Board of County Commissioners appoints Veterans Service Officers to assist veterans in navigating the benefits available through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other veteran-related programs. These officers help veterans understand their eligibility, complete applications, and obtain the benefits they have earned through their military service.

Services include assistance with:

VA disability compensation and pension claims
Health care enrollment and benefits
Education and GI Bill benefits
Burial and memorial benefits
Dependency and survivor benefits
State veterans' benefits and programs
Referrals to additional veteran resources and services
