
Weed Supervisor
The Deuel County Weed Supervisor is a part-time position appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Weed Supervisor is responsible for enforcing county and state noxious weed laws and responding to weed-related complaints received by the county.
The Weed Supervisor oversees a seasonal crew and coordinates weed control efforts throughout Deuel County. This includes determining appropriate spraying conditions, selecting the proper chemicals, and ensuring safe and effective methods are used to control noxious weeds.
The Weed Supervisor has working knowledge of herbicides, weed identification, and weed control practices. The position also works closely with and provides support to the County Weed and Pest Board.
Through education, enforcement, and responsible weed management, the Weed Department works to protect agricultural land, natural resources, roadways, and private property from the spread of noxious weeds.
