Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds is the "Library" for the county.  Our office records Deuel County real estate documents such as Deeds, Mortgages, Easements, Satisfactions, Plats, and other documents.  Our office maintains full and true computerized and scanned records of all the documents. Many of these files can be obtained by calling, emailing, or visiting the county Register of Deeds office.  For recording fees for South Dakota, please see the "Fee Sheet to Record Documents in Reg. Deeds office" link at the bottom of this page. Note: The Register of Deeds and staff CANNOT help you complete documents or forms.  We are also unable to provide legal advice of any type.  If you have questions about completing forms or how to transfer property, please consult with an attorney.
