Planning and Zoning
The Deuel County Zoning Officer is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for administering and enforcing the Deuel County Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Office works to promote the orderly development of the county while protecting the health, safety, and general welfare of its residents.
The Zoning Officer reviews development proposals, issues permits, provides guidance on zoning regulations, and coordinates meetings of the Deuel County Zoning Board. The office is responsible for processing permits for structures, shelterbelts, fireworks, and Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs), as required by county ordinance.
.
The Zoning Office also reviews all proposed plats and subdivisions. Before a plat can be considered by the Board of County Commissioners, it must first be reviewed and approved by the Zoning Board.
Applications for variances and special exceptions are submitted through the Zoning Office, where they are reviewed and presented to the Zoning Board for public hearing and consideration. The Zoning Board is responsible for approving or denying these requests in accordance with the Deuel County Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Office is committed to assisting property owners, developers, and the public by providing information on zoning regulations, permit requirements, and the land use planning process to help ensure responsible growth throughout Deuel County.
